This course provides a comprehensive understanding of gender-responsive urban mobility and inclusive public spaces in the Indian context. It introduces a four-pillar framework to assess existing mobility challenges, strengthen planning and policy systems, build institutional capacity, and improve infrastructure and services through a gender lens. The course explores safety concerns, mobility barriers, inclusive planning approaches, institutional reforms, public transport design, community engagement, and gender-sensitive interventions. Designed for policymakers, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), transport authorities, planners, and practitioners, the course supports the creation of safer, more accessible, and equitable urban mobility systems for women, girls, gender minorities, and persons with disabilities.
