The course provides a comprehensive understanding of the various components of FSSM to implement effective and sustainable sanitation solutions in cities through hands-on experience. With the increasing importance and need in small and medium towns, it is necessary to strengthen the existing knowledge base and build capacity for its planning and implementation. The course is designed to enable participants to plan for the entire sanitation service chain, through various national missions namely, SBM-U 2.0, AMRUT 2.0 and the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission, thereby achieving targets of SDG 6.2 and 6.3. Since WASH is one of the crucial sectors under SCM, the course is crucial for officials from Smart Cities to plan for city wide inclusive sanitation services.
