Mainstreaming Inclusive Green Economy (IGE) Principles in the Urban Sector in India

The course provides a comprehensive understanding of Inclusive Green Economy (IGE) principles, as well as the existing and enabling legal, policy, and regulatory frameworks along with the strategic master planning process. It aims to equip learners with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively support and implement IGE principles across various sectors and levels of government. Additionally, actionable strategies for addressing sector-specific challenges and concerns are incorporated. The course is divided into two set of modules. “Module A: Strategic Sessions” provides an overview of the concept, its urgency and need, as well as an overview of the enabling instruments and the actions required to be taken by cities. “Module B: Thematic Sessions” covers detailed aspects of IGE implementation along with relevant case studies in sectors such as Solid Waste Management, Wastewater Management, Blue-Green Infrastructure, Sustainable Mobility, Air Quality and Climate Change.
